Morongwa Warie, Singer-songwriter

Morongwa Varie

Singer-songwriter Morongwa Warie is a solo music artist born in Atteridgeville Pretoria in South Africa. She moved with her mother to Soshanguve at an early age. She is making her mark in the music scene. Her stage name is Morongwa Varie, she is at the breaking out stage of her music career, though she has been doing music her whole life.


Morongwa describes her music as feel good kind of music. Her debut single with a reggae genre titled “Freedom” is making waves at the moment as it was chosen to be showcased at the FAME Week Africa Showcase 2021 which was held on the 5th October 2021 took place in Cape Town. She is preparing to release her latest music project in March. A four track EP produced by TST Musiq.


Morongwa Varie does her performances at local Pubs, Clubs and chillers places. She hopes to extend it to doing weddings, anniversaries and intimate events. She also performed at the Miss Hydra Beauty contest in KZN which got her featured on the local new paper Press Reader. One of her biggest highlight performance was performing at the Pheli Awards on the 6th November 2021 at the South African State Theatre, which opened opportunities for
her to do collaborations with different artists.


She takes influences from artist like India Arie, Lauryn Hill just to name a few internationally. Locally looks up to Lira. She started doing music from an early childhood, where she used to sing at Primary school choir, middle school until her high school days. Not only that, but she also used to sing at church from
Sunday school until recently, when she was ordained to be a praise and worship leader at church.


She is also an event organiser and an aspiring business woman, motivational speaker and a GBV activist. She does an annual Business Expo, allowing young entrepreneurs to parade their services and products letting the community know by informing them about the necessary skills and giving upcoming local
artists to perform at the event. The event got media coverage by Sosh Times newspaper and Rekord newspaper in Pretoria.
