Q&A WITH HOLLY
Tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
I took part in the Swazi Reed Dance when I was 13. I went home with a friend from boarding school and her father worked in the palace so we went to the event with him and I joined in.
What tips can you share that have helped to shape your career?
Build a team of people that know and understand your vision. Stay loyal to people who support you. Don’t let opportunities define your character as an artist, always stay true to yourself in the choices that you make. Consistency and dependability are incredibly important in building a long lasting career in the industry.
Best gig/performance been a part of.
That’s a hard one because I have been a part of so many incredible experiences through live music. I would have to say that one of my favourites would be getting to share the stage with the legendary Mohatella Queens alongside, HHP and PJ Powers at the age of 15 was perhaps my most memorable experience as a young musician.
Advice you would give to your 18 year old self in one sentence?
Avoid excess and always appreciate the little things.
Best advice you were given when you started out?
This is a marathon, not a sprint, you need to build endurance and stay the course.
