One-eyed Jack, together with DStv, has announced the Content Creator Awards to celebrate local content creators.

Officially dubbed DStv Content Creator Awards, these will give recognition to various personalities behind the thumb-stopping, double-tapping, stitch-worthy, meme-making, and share-crazy.

Commenting on the awards, Thabisa Mkhwanazi, executive head of marketing, MultiChoice South Africa, said partnering with One-eyed Jack for these awards was a perfect move as it supports uplifting local talent.

“We saw this partnership as the perfect platform to align with, as it supports our ethos of pioneering new paths for content creation and uplifting our exceptional local talent.

“As the biggest funder of local content and sport in Africa, we’re looking forward to fantastic ways to leverage this collaboration with maximum impact for the creators, our channels and the South African public.”

Creators will be able to submit their content pieces for recognition in 22 categories.

Entries open on 19 April 2022 and close on 12 June 2022. The main event will be held in Johannesburg in August with a date to be confirmed closer to the time.
